A homelike environment for prevention, investigation, and treatment of child abuse.

A family will encounter a large and comfortable living room and kitchen. 

It has a separate play room full of

toys for kids of all ages.  In addition, 

it has a television/video player

with plenty of movies and cartoons to entertain the children.

 

The child and his/her family are introduced to the professionals who will assist them.  They may include a social worker and/or a law enforcement detective for an interview or a medical professional

for a medical exam.

 

Furthermore, the PCAC has 2 interview rooms that resemble private family room settings and all interviews are recorded using state-of-the-art digital audio/video equipment.

 

Medical exams are conducted in a private, child-friendly setting.  A

state-of-the-art Colposcope is used to record the findings of each exam.

 

The child’s parent/guardian receives helpful information on what to expect next and information on any additional resources that may be

available to them.
