A family will encounter a large and comfortable living room and kitchen. It has a separate play room full of toys for kids of all ages. In addition, it has a television/video player with plenty of movies and cartoons to entertain the children.
The child and his/her family are introduced to the professionals who will assist them. They may include a social worker and/or a law enforcement detective for an interview or a medical professional for a medical exam.
Furthermore, the PCAC has 2 interview rooms that resemble private family room settings and all interviews are recorded using state-of-the-art digital audio/video equipment.
Medical exams are conducted in a private, child-friendly setting. A state-of-the-art Colposcope is used to record the findings of each exam.
The child’s parent/guardian receives helpful information on what to expect next and information on any additional resources that may be available to them. |
